So... HERE's where the BICYCLE stuff will be...
Like most folks, I first straddled a bike as a child. It was a shiny red Christmas bicycle with training wheels. My life changed on the day the training wheels came off. It changed again on the first day I rode up the street until my house was out of sight, enroute to a destination! Bicycle was a primary form of transportation, and my only "independent" transportation, for the next ten years or so.
Then, like most folks, I got a drivers license and started thinking of my bike as a toy. CAR was the way to get around. But after about ten years of that, and experiencing the down-side of car transportation (expense, traffic, parking, etc.), the bike started looking attractive again. And, in 1986 I transitioned back to bicycle as my primary means of transportation. I've never looked back.
More than thirty years have come and gone... I've ridden 350-odd days, and 6000-odd miles, each of those years. I ride to work. I run errands on the bike. I ride for exercise and pleasure. I LOVE IT!
