Here's where the motorcycle stuff will be...
I first rode (drove) a motorcycle when I was maybe 12 years old. My dad had a Suzuki 120cc trail bike, and we were fortuitously situated right at the end of civilization at the time. I could get on and ride a block, and be on dirt trails... where I was allowed to ride despite my young age and lack of a driver's license.
I had friends who lived in "motorcycle households" and also had motorcycles, so I had riding buddies from early on.
As I got older, friends got street bikes. My parents were far less enthusiastic about my riding on pavement that I shared with cars and trucks... but life went on. I will confess that I'm lucky to have survived those years unscathed; like most adolescents I thought I was immortal, and hardly exercised good judgment at all times. Kris got a 500cc Kawasaki Mach III, and would let me ride it. Crazy! Then Jeff got a 750cc Kawasaki Mach IV, and I rode it. Insane!
Motorcycles I have owned:
- 1973 Yamaha RD350
- 1976 Kawasaki KH500
- 1978 Yamaha SR500 (still have it)
- 1984 Yamaha XT600 (some lowlife stole it)
- 1997 Harley-Davidson XL1200S
- 2000 Harley-Davidson FXDX (still have it)
- 2006 BMW F650GS (still have it)
